Aveda’s PCR packaging comes up a winner.
The Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) has named Aveda a 2013 AmeriStar Package Award Winner in the Health & Beauty Aids category for its 100% post consumer recycled high-density polyethylene (HDPE) bottles. The AmeriStar Awards competition honors the best packages of the year. Aveda’s bottles also utilize a post consumer recycled content color carrier allowing Aveda to achieve a long-standing goal to eliminate virgin petro-chemical content.

“With every package we develop, we’re mindful of our environmental footprint and work to minimize our packaging and maximize our use of recyclable and post-consumer recycled materials,” said Mike Kennedy, vice president, Aveda global package development. “We are proud to be named an AmeriStar Package Award winner and recognized as a true leader in the beauty industry.” (For more on Mike Kennedy and Aveda’s approach to packaging, please go to nitesh_bp.rodpub.com/articles/2013/04/avedas-approach-to-packaging)
